As you all know I do not like sugar-coated stories when it comes to our work with exploitation and the vulnerability of women and children. Being privileged to be a part of the work with Hope For the Silent Voices gives me a unique, harsh, sad and realistic view into the world of trafficking and exploitation. We can not try to craft messages to be more palatable in order to digest someone else’s exploitation better. We can no longer evade the discomfort of learning another’s tragic story of victimization so we can sleep better at night. The world around our very lives holds harmful truths and realities that we must help take responsibility for.
The following video is one of the best PSA (public service announcements) that I have encountered. It is not pleasant to watch but it is reality. And it is certainly happening on our watch.
Join us in this battle and tend to the needs of the vulnerable and exploited through Hope For the Silent Voices or another campaign active in this cause.
